Kerri Kurz is a local Minnesotan photographer. We absolutely LOVE our wedding photos that she had taken for us! She recently came to me with a request to help her rebrand and build a new website. Kerri has a distinct style, but mostly requested something earthy, simple and to include some dusty rose colors.

When I create a logo design for a small business, especially when it represents one person, I tend to make it more personal. Dragonflies have a special place in Kerri’s life. She was at a tattoo shop with a friend that was getting a new tattoo, but Kerri impulsively decided to get a tattoo of a dragonfly because the imagery had captured her attention. The tattoo artist told her how some Native cultures believe that their ancestors return to watch over them. Because Kerri had lost two women that were special to her, she now carries these two dragonflies with her everywhere she goes.

I started with a simple dragonfly that will work with the script text but also could be a stand alone graphic. I wanted this vector to have movement within the shape but also be simple.

We finalized the branding and have recently launched Kerri’s new website. My goal was to create a clean website that didn’t distract the viewer from her photography.

Head over to her website, take a look and if you have any photography needs, please consider her for your next session!
