Mock Project no. 01
I introduced this first mock project to my social media followers on Monday and by Friday the business had a brand identity, customer experience and was as close to real life as it could get without actually opening up a business.
Mock projects are to challenge me as a designer, to bust out of my comfort zone and to bring an audience along for the ride. My creative process is well documented and shared with everyone to give a glimpse of what it is like working with me.
Monday
Superior Street in Duluth, Minnesota is revitalized. I allowed my audience to vote on a business they would like to see in an empty corner unit of a commercial building. Surrounded by breweries, tap rooms, boutiques and coffee shops.
The options
The Barrel Thief Wine Bar
Harriet & Oak Mercantile
Pure Fox Pizza Kitchen
Tuesday
The Barrel Thief Wine Bar received the most votes. I designed a mood board for this business.
Wednesday
The audience gets to vote which logo they want to use for this business.
The Rustic Logo:
Similar to what you would see stamped on a wine barrel.
The Glam Logo:
More elegant similar to a design from a wine bottle.
Friday
The audience chose the rustic logo (left).
I ran with this design and mocked up the exterior of the building, menu and overall customer experience.
